22RE Lower Pump to Pipe Coolant Hose Replacement

It looks like I have to remove the PS pump to get the water pump outlet to replace the pump to pipe hose on my 86 4Runner 22RE. Is this correct? Any tricks without removing the pump?

Thanks!

No; you just have to spin the clamp around till you can pinch it with pliers. Then you get to fight it loose. I use one of those TV cut anything including a hammer knives to cut the old hose enough to minimize the battle.

thanks. I had to leave that one alone for now. 10 hours of working in the freezing rain and now snow was enough for me. I got every coolant hose replaced except that one.

All new coolant hoses (except one), new plugs, cap/rotor, sealed up the remaining vacuum leaks and it's running better than ever!
