Advise on buying a 90' 4Runner

3.0 V6 with 457000 miles on original motor. No rebuild, maintenance records indicate they have used full synthetic from what I could see. Clutch done at 350000. I'm not a mecanic by any means but, it seems to have good compresion and sounds good. Single owner used to drive it back and forth from Idaho to New York. I could pick it up for $1200.00. Wondering what you guys would do? I only need it to last 6 months with no issues, it would be parked for 4 years after that, so I would have plenty of time and money to drop in it before my next child can drive.

thats a ton of miles for a 3.0... no rebuilds ever of any kind i find it hard to believe that the t-belt and head gaskets made it that long i would be scared to drive it. if its true it might be some kind of record for a 3.0

thats a butt load of miles for ANY yota, not just the 3.0.

You need to take into consideration that the suspension is gonna need some work as well. bushings wear out too.

that would be like 15,200 hours or 2 billion 6 million revolutions or more on the bearings at an average of 30 mph every component on that car has had a lot of wear
