What color should I paint my truck? Do you have pics of your truck?

I'm in the middle of painting my 89 pickup. I'm 90% done with the sanding part and I'm still brain storming which color to chose from. The original color used to be black.

I don't want black paint again for two reasons. It's hard to prep and paint. Second there's too much dirt/dust where I live and black paint shows everything.

I was thinking something like dark blue, red or white. But I can't make up my mind. Any help would be appreciate it. Some pics of your trucks will help too.

thanks

btw I'm not sure if this thread is in the right area sorry.

Any ideas?

Well white is obviously going to show more dirt than black.. Why would anyone be ashamed ofgetting dirty? anyways.. I guess you could go with brown or something.

Whatever color you decide on, take at PPG shop line brand, it is relatively cheap, hold well, and their epoxy primer rocks as both a primer, and sealer, it runs about $45.00 a quart. You will need about two quarts for final prime, block sand, and sealer. Good luck post plenty of pics.

Dust and imperfections are more visible on shiny black than shiny white. c'mon man you didn't know that?

Why would someone want their truck looking all dirty?

I had a black mustang cobra that stayed clean the first few hours after washing it. Then you could see dust, dirt all over from just being parked or driving around the neighborhood. It's a beautiful color don't get me wrong, probably the best out there, however if you live in a dirty place and don't have the time to keep the dust off and the shine up, it's hard to maintain clean.

Lime green with a large TRD with a red T, black RD, diagonal over the hood.
THEN..
4" exhaust tube, super dark tint, a tonneau cover, and a gigantic spoiler.
Don't forget the Type R sticker.

lol

I do like taking my gf out on the weekends ! It won't help having an old truck painted like the tip of the space shuttle !

A real nice color that I truly like is a blue, hard to describe.. seen on the grand cherokees, nissan frontiers 2004-2006.

user Swerks paint job from the self painted rig thread. I like the idea of gray. Also like tan or something close to hide dirt. Some of the bright orange/yellow/green look good too.
