Purchased a wrecked 1991 extra cab toyota pickup that has a lot of work done to it. The cab a-pillar and front structure is all damaged and I am wondering if the cab off of a 2nd gen 4runner will bolt up to the truck frame without major modifications? If not I will be in search of a good cab for the truck to do the swap.

 

Should "fit" May have to weld come brackets. And change some wiring. Someone did something like this a year or so ago. It should be in the build up section.

 

The 4runner body is too short. The extra cab frame is going to have a longer wheelbase than the 4runner. You would have to shorten the frame or stretch the body.

 

Thank you Rattlewagon! I was afraid that would be the case, and havent had time to measure the two out yet, but that was the answer I was expecting to hear. I have probably spent 1000 hours on yotatech doing research and planning a 4runner build. I ended up buying this wrecked xtra cab, and it already has an lift with SAS, 37's, 4.3 with 700r4, bumper, winch, redone interior etc etc done to it, however it took a pretty bad flop and will need a cab fenders hood and ps door. Looks like its time to rebuild an xtra cab!
