3-VZE water pump bearing gone. (need conformation)

hey so my 1988 pick up is making a weird, almost like a peice of someting is tumbleing around under the hood, gently. get worse when my rpms are really low, clears up when my rmps are around 2-3 thosand and gets worse again when i excelerate i looked up in the haynes repair manual and the water pump bering seemed to be the one that fit the noise. i dont think its a ring or anything to do with the pistons i have tones of power and good gas mileage. dose this sound like the water pump or bearing to you? care to elaberate?

Using your keyboard, could you please try to spell out the sound?

Also, the tone of power... is that high pitched, or more of a low roar... A growl, perhaps?

Dosing the water pump bearing isn't going to solve the problem. Neither will tossing it in the Bering sea, though that might release some pent up frustration in this situation.

You should probably look into fixing your RMPS first, THEN worry about about what is causing the noise.

Also, I don't think Microsoft Excel is going to help you much in this case. Though you may be able to make a flow chart of the power tones.

and for the noise. its honestly is quite quiet and it sounds like a piece of something is shaking around but not drematicaly. a metallic clicking noise that does not go at the same speed as the engien like something is bouncing around........ thats the best i can discribe it.

Can you make a video or audio recording of the noise?
