i took my windshield out, dont know what to do now

so my truck has always leaked from the windshield. yesterday it started really affecting my electrical. my running light, turn signal and glow plug realays all started being intermitent. after that i decided i had enough and was going to solve it.
before taking the windshield out i expected to find some rust in the corners like i have seen before, not too big a deal.
unfourtunatly its much much more.
now im not even sure how to fix it, i have done sheet metal repair before but never anything this complicated. the entire legnth of the frame will have to be replaced on the bottom, and the top has some holes to patch.
my options now are, to fabricate a new frame, which i think is possible but time consuming. or to find a rust free cowl to splice in, however this is difficult cause there are hardly any trucks around here now.
if anyone has done this repair before and has suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. too much work has gone into this truck to let this take it off the road. all the other rust in the cab has been fixed.

yeah....cab swap!

if thats not an option....you could get a few more years by sanding,priming......then filling all the affected area with silicone, let dry, then trim away the excess.
install the glass and seal along with fresh layer of silicone to ensure a good seal.

lil messy....but should hold you over till you find a good cab,or better solution.
just be aware that the removal of the silicone later may be a pain!
good thing the seal is about $50 new.

Find someone with a wrecked cab who can cut that 1-2" you need all around and cut it up and send it to you? You say that leaked?

I'm gonna go spray some oil in those pillars tomorrow.

The problem with a cab swap is that's the rest of the cab is really good. It has been off the truck, had some floor pan work, and then sealed with a rust paint. The windshield is the only part that has not been looked at. And I have never seen a cab that that did not need work to the floors. And I think the shipping may be a bit much from Georgia, I'm in the opposite corner lol

Thanks slacker, that looks really good. What's the best way to put that curve in the angle?

I am up against the same thing. I have not pulled my windshield yet but know it is not going to be pretty.

nightstalker, if you are talking about the cab in Tocoa, I had a friend check it out a couple of weeks ago. The floors & probably the rocker panels are rusted out.

You guys are lucky in California. This truck has already had the cab fixed, bed replaced, frame replaced, cab swapped, bed replaced and now this

And I haven't seen one in a yard here in a couple years. I can't even find local parts. I'm going to have to start hoarding

Slacker, do you know if a Harbor Freight shrinker/stretcher is good enough for doing this?
