this is my first time on this site, still tryin to figure it all out. Any way, I need some help trouble shooting a knocking creaking noise coming from my front end. I can only hear it at low speeds and when i turn the wheel or go over speed bumps ect. It sounds like its coming from my knuckles but some one told me it could be my suspension. Any suggestions. Thanks

 

27 year old truck...lack of attention..
wheel bearings, birfields, tie rod ends, spring bushings, etc etc..

As ocdropzone said, this could be almost anything on a rig that old.

You will just need to start eliminating possibilities. Go under there with a rubber mallet and start whacking on crap until you hear the noise, fix it, move on.

I had to do this on my '85 4Runner all the time. Seemed like every weekend I was replacing a bolt, bushing, etc...
