Ok, I got a 1986 4runner, 4 cyl that wont turn over, ive had this boy for around 5 years now. Rebuilt the engine and tranny and some other parts. My problem is it wont turn over, I just hear a clicking sound coming from the right side (maybe where the computer is?)

My battery is fine, this used to happen to me SOMETIMES in the past, but its happening more often now. Basically I could sit there for 5 minutes trying to turn it over and if im lucky after a few minutes, it actually will turn over and ill get it started. Sometimes I give up and leave it there. If I *DO* get it started and drive it around, it starts up fine for the rest of the day. If I leave it sitting for a week or two, it tends to do this...

Any ideas?

if the motor isn't even cranking over try the neutral safty switch on the tranny auto an manual trannys all have.

 

You can turn over your Runner by jacking one side up real high... LOL!!

 

Better yet...pin it in reverse and crank the wheel.
