Educated opinions? Timing chain/noise related

So my 22re started making a horrific noise on the way to work and initially thought - timing chain issue, as it is quite common.

Upon taking the valve cover off I inspected the guides and found the driver side looks to be metal. Thus, someone has been in here already and with 208k MILES on the truck I don't find this too hard to believe, the previous owner must have been a keener and replaced it properly.

Can anyone with a trained eye confirm that this is what they are supposed to look like?

Here's the driver side:

Here is the passenger side:

And a video of the noise. After listening to it more I think it maybe a bearing in one of the pulley's. I DID replace the alternator last week when battery and park brake light came on and wasn't charging at all.

Leaking exhaust near the manifold can sound like a rattling chain, so check that while you're at it. Ask me how I know haha

Found the cause lol.

Water pump/Belt ended up being the cause. Mainly the belt. I have never heard a belt like that before, for about 10 minutes I was convinced I could hear a knock. Fixed for under $30 - this is why I love these trucks.

What specific's are you after? The belt had got oil soaked from a valve cover leak and it stretched to the point where sliding the alternator all the way over to tension the belt wouldn't keep it tight enough. New belt fixed that. Water pump also felt like it was grinding when I spun it by hand without the belt on.

your timing chain guide is also busted, see the mark it's making in the cover? It's only a matter of time, I would change it and clean out the oil pan of what's left of that guide.

I'll see if I could get a pic of what the top of that guide should look like.

EDIT: Here ya go.
