Hi I currently have a '88 pickup with a good 5 speed transmission and bad motor, and came across a deal on an '82 with good motor but bad 5 speed transmission. Both pickups are 4 wheel drive. guess what I am wondering is there any difference in the mounting of these two transmission to where it would make a difference in putting my '88 transmission in the '82 pickup

both are carbureted motors if that makes a difference

i have a 83 toyota 22r and a 88 toyota 5 speed and transfer case it will bolt up same u will need a longer rear driveshaft but i just had mine cut and made longer by a shop here in town and also have to do a different cross member cause it wont bolt to frame in same spot hope this helps

 

Thanks bud, I have both pickups so hopefully one of the cross members work and hopefully the driveshaft if not I guess I'll have to have one made xD.

hopefully it will work let me no on the driveshaft i can show u how they did mine or pull a measurement for u so they can have it ready for u while u swap everything over
