stuck in 4wd after diff and tranny swap

i have had a lots of problems after i swapped trannys. i went from just having no reverse to have a tranny that works in all gears just makes a whinning noise in everyone expect for 4th. then i blew my rear diff and thought i had a welded 410 spare diff but its not. i put that in not checking and the front wheels skid on pavement in 4wd. i also could not get out of 4wd. for the longest time, this happened once with my old trans and tcase. what could cause this

Ive had trouble shifting out of 4wd before and shifting into reverse and backing a little usually lets me shift out of it. Are you sure the shifter is installed correctly? Tcases that sit for a long time become hard to shift. I know, I just installed one! I put a gob of grease on the TF shifter and worked it through all shifts a few times and it is much better now.

Well, start by putting the trans in reverse and letting the xfer case un-bind before you grenade it.
Second off.. unlock your hubs..
third off, make sure your diffs match.

If you do demolish the t-case, or either diff, please post pics....
