Hi all. New to the site, and new to toyotas. Matter of fact, my stock 2001 4runner (SR5 4x4) is my first vehicle ever and I wasted no time getting it offroad.
Here are my questions, and I'd like to think its not a dumbass "what is 4x4 again" style of question. I've done my homework too with the search and I'm pretty sure these haven't been asked:
Question 1: My SR5 has the shift on the fly 4x4 hi, and the 4x4 lo you have to manually shift in. It seems to me that 4x4 hi while in "2", or "L", feels about the same as 4x4 lo in drive. Is there an advantage of picking one over the other, except not having to stop to shift in 4x4 hi?
Question 2: Is 4x4 lo in "2" or "L" as opposed to "Drive" an advantage or is it already restricted to those low gears? I did a few pretty steep hill climbs with both options and it felt about the same to me.
Thanks
Eric

there is usally a little sticker or something in the car that tells you all about the 4x4 system and how to use it and when to use it. mine is on my driver side sun visor, i think there may be one in the maunel that comes with the car too.
