build questions! (SAS)

Hey YT Crew!

ok first of have a 95 runner curently on build stanby... i wanna SAS got half of the parts already ... but now im so confused!!

i have mini truck axles...
but like a lot of people... i wanna go higher and bigger, my choice would be d60 or fj80, personally i dont want d60s... but i really dont know about the 80 axles... i heard there some ofset on the rear axle for the dshaft!

can you tell me for the 80s what does it involes changing... like tcase steering etc, compared to the mini truck sas axles....

i can be persuaded other wise about the d60...

thxs

Build what you got and wheel it until it breaks.
Most don't need anything bigger.

Well built Toyota axles will handle 37s all day long.

X2.. I wheel with numerous guys that run 40's with Toy axles with minimal issues. One thing to remember is a 60 has a much larger differential, so 40's on a 60 give you similar diff clearance to 37's on a Toy axle.

first off you wanna go bigger and taller the first thing to consider is horse power are you planing on v8 swap in the future are you staying with a 4 or 6 banger... the picture you have in your head about how you want your toy to end up is the way you want tostart your build... for instance I knew I had plans for a 350 sbc but I wanted to keep my Toyota cases so I built my cases to hold up to v8 horse power... also I had planned on 44s so I went ahead and got 1 ton axles.... its better to spend money on stuff to get you where you want to be as far as a finished product... if you do stuff just to get by you will wind up spending way more then you want and you will wind up goin into a different direction....... opinions are one thing and my opinion is all I can express.... hope this helps from one budget builder to another
