2003 Tacoma SAS HELP!
I bought a 1985 wasnt front axle to do a SAS on my 2003 Tacoma. I talked to a friend who said that even though its a passenger side drop...all i had to do was flip the axle and it would be fine. So i bought the axle.
Is this right? or should i have not bought the axle?

Uhh, the axle can be flipped.
However, the knuckle balls need to be cut and swapped.
If you don't want to do that, adapt an older gear driven transfer case onto the back of your trans. Then you'll be able to run passenger drop just fine.
The most common axle for a Tacoma sas would be a jeep wagoneer d44 which has a 61" wms and is drivers drop.
Better start researching.

Old thread, but yes it can be done. You will also need to flip the third up side down or in this case right side up as well as the knuckles from side to side. Some mounting holes for the third member will need to be moved and you will need to cut the front of the diff housing to make room for the diff. The notches in the diff cover (so to speak) will be in the wrong spot. My buddy did this when he dropped in a 7mgte in his buggy. He used an auto trans.
