I am looking at buying a 2011 Tacoma access cab with a 6 speed manual and have been reading on here about people having problems with them in the past. Does anyone know if Toyota has addressed the problem? Thanks

 

There's a TSB now for the issue, I don't have the number but it's a new clutch release bearing, fork and one or two other parts that increases the width of the bearing so it has more surface area to ride on to reduce wear. I would hope that the parts made it to the assembly plant by now but unfortunately I can't say for sure. You may want to see if they can trace your VIN to see what is in there.

I had the same concerns when I bought my 2007 V6 6MT and don't have any issues, who knows what long term results will be. Right now, I'm happy. I love driving it.
