sitting at a stop light on way home last nite, truk running fine and out of the blue no warning at all my truk dies. just like i shut the key off, tried starting again with no luck. engine turns over but seems slower than usual and sounds odd. checked the oil and it is fine. im kinda wondering if the timing chain broke or skipped a tooth or two. Is there any way to check for this and what other possibilities should i look at?

I have the exact problem with mine. Turns over real slow. Thought it was the starter and replaced it. nothing changed... bought a new battery... still the same. checked valve lash, removed all 4 spark plugs and it turned over crazy. tried pull starting, and nothing. tried 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear.

 

To check the timing chain pull the valve cover look down in front of the cam gear with a flash light you should be able to see if something is wrong
