Here are some pics of the first day I brought it home in January. So far I've changed the oil & filter, fuel filter, plugs, cap & rotor, plug wires & air filter. Put some seat covers on the buckets & found some visors @ U Pull & Pay. From Yota Jim's in Denver I got the red marker lights for the sides of the bed & new steering column covers.

The tail pipe was rotted through at the muffler outlet and the inlet tube was rusting so Friday I got a new turbo muffler & tail pipe from Bud's Mufflers. The skinny pedal feels a little free-er.

Saturday I started doing some rust removal, & in the case of the passenger side of the bed at the rear, bondo removal. It was covering a dent that only took a couple of minutes to beat out. Going to try to check with Yota Jim's on a front bumper and passenger front fender.

Thanks! Yesterday I picked up this fender from Yoda Jim's in Denver. A couple of little dings (nothing compared to the creases in my current one) & a little bit of surface rust. $25. I'm going back Friday to get a front bumper.

I love those early first gen instrument clusters...I had one for a while that I considered wiring in to my 83, but ended up selling it instead. Still haven't ruled out finding another and making it work, though...

I stopped by Yoda Jim's today & picked up this bumper & push bar/winch tray. I started with a wire wheel & changed to the orbital sander on the bumper to remove the rust. Sander worked better, but it's a slow process. I'm going to sand as much as I can, but I'm also going to try some of that Rustoleum Rust Reformer paint.

This afternoon I put on the fender & front bumper I got from Yoda Jim's and a headlight door I bought off the internet. I need a couple of screws & clips for the headlight door & the bumper was a little different than the one on the truck originally. So I'm missing the driver side end cap. Might be making another trip to Jim's. But it's nice to have that bent up fender & bumper off here (look @ post #1). With the old bumper off I noticed a part of the grille by the passenger headlight is broken/missing, but I'm not too worried about it. The push bar will go on when I get some hardware.

Luckily we didn't get rain this afternoon like they were calling for. So I got to work on the fenders, hood, cowling & push bar. Here's a couple of pics.

I'm doing what I can on the rust. I love those stripes you have on your truck. They're a little out of my price range right now.

Friday night I replaced the steering stabilizer. Once off, I could collapse/extend the original with my fingers. Not so easy with the MOOG one I put on. I'll be taking it for a little drive today.
