New to me 2000 Tacoma 4WD Xtra cab SR5

Hey guys! Just bought a 2000 model Tacoma off Craigslist last night. 165,000 miles with original timing belt!! Yikes! Frame is good.

Gonna get started on some maintenance items to get me comfortable with the truck's condition. Long list!

I have an 86 SR5 4wd Xtra cab, but I'm gonna sell it to a family member.

Any thoughts on where to buy a power window motor reasonable?

Can only figure out how to post it this way. Paint is not as good as it looks, but thats at the bottom of the list of things to do right now.

I really would like to find those center caps that go on the rear rim. To me, it takes a way a lot from the appearance missing those.

Thank you for the helpful links. Lots to do to her in the future. I tightened the valve cover gaskets to stop that little bit of oil weeping it was doing onto the exhaust, flushed the radiator, greased the u joints, and adjusted the hand brake. Next will be changing gear oil, power window motor, check engine light (O2 sensor?)and timing belt. Paint will be last.
Seems to be a pretty solid truck from what I can tell over the weekend working on it.

Congrats! For you parts, I've had good luck from online places like rockauto.com just be very careful to cross check the part numbers with places like autozone because the descriptions on rockauto are vegue as hell. Junk yards are hit or miss, or at least they are here. When a taco comes to the yards around here, people are very fast to jump on them and grab all of the good stuff (or the stuff you need). Whatever you do though try to stay away from the dealership or prepare for a royal reaming, but that's kind of common knowledge these days i guess; Good luck!

Interesting the dealer is always my first choice for parts that are not to be had aftermarket.

I like being able to call on the phone and say can you get me this. While others say they are told parts are obsolete I am told '' we will try''

You don`t say what engine you have??

Have you tested the window motor and found it bad??

If not for the AC I would rather drive my 87 4X4 then the 2000 Tacoma

It has the V-6.
Havent got that far on the window motor yet, but based on the symptoms, I think thats what its going to be.
I bought the 2000 as something newer to replace my 86 4x4(See avatar pic) but now I realize how much I love my old truck! I have already promised it to my brother, and I really dont need it. But I sure am gonna miss it!
I did a search on here yesterday about cleaning 02 sensors. Yesterday I pulled the 02 sensor and cleaned it. I disconnected the battery while doing it. When I put it back it, the check engine light went out! Only problem now is it set off the alarm. I want to disable the alarm system because I dont like having an alarm system. Searching previous threads now, but I may end up having to start a new one.
