Rebuild or swap 5vz fe

I have a 1995 Toyota T-100 SR5 with 500,000 miles on the original motor. It's giving me no problems but I want horsepower. I'm afraid that if I put horsepower in the engine my crankshaft won't be able to handle the power. My engine also has low oil pressure. I'm stumped on if I should get a new engine or rebuild mine the way I want it with power. I thought about putting a 1UZ V8 in it but that's to pricy. Whats yalls opinion??

How is the rest of the truck, body rust etc.
What about getting a 97 and put in a Super charger? Probably less money than an engine swap

Are you going by the instrument cluster gauge or did you hook up a calibrated pressure gauge on the oil pump output port? Low oil pressure (instrument cluster) readings are normal fer this engine...as long as the needle moves up/down according to the engine revs.

Superchargers are nice...but not cheap. Take a peek around on the supercharger and the required additional setups (7th injector and control module, auto trans valve body upgrade, auto trans clutch plate upgrades, premium fuel instead of regular). Keep in mind that the 1997-98 T-100 ECUs are the only T-100 ECUs capable of handling the additional air/fuel from the supercharger.

Dropping in a V-8 engine won't be cheap either. Yer probably better off just gitting a Tundra and going from there.

Remember...extra power comes at an additional monetary cost...

I believe that the 5vzfe engine is capable of handling 700hp or so...an internet search should tell you how far someone's built it up and how much it cost them...

The truck is in excellent condition no rust or anything just a couple of dents.

And yes maintenance is a everyweek thing for me. Many long nights at the mechanics.

My mechanic testing the oil pressure some kind of way and it is lower than normal. I never gets over the first mark.

I love my truck it's never let me down and its a mud bug only been stuck once.

All is all I just don't know what to do rebuild or get a new engine

I guess it would all depend on the builder of the engine. It would take less time to just drop in a new engine and go from there.

Do you have rebuilder picked out? Going with stock internals or aftermarket stuff? How much are you looking to drop on an engine rebuild or replacement?

Yes my builder is a mechanic who use to be a mechanic for team Toyota. He is a real good mechanic. He is the only person that I will let work in my truck. I'm getting all of my parts from LC ENGENERING I want it pushing at least 350 hp. In Ur opinion whats cheaper rebuild or new engine?

Would you have to get the computer and wire harness for the 1UZ?
