No Btm-end Power

No Btm-end Power
I have just replaced a head gasket on my 89 22r-e. I was quite meticlous about labeling everything and putting it back where it came from, however the truck is second hand and I believe the head has been replaced before (it has the pear shaped ex ports). I can not figure out why but the truck has NO power. It seems to have plenty of power at high rpm's but if I do not drive it like a motorcycle I couldnt make it up the first hill I come to down the rd. This truck is my daily driver. I am lost and out of Ideas! the truck ran great prior to the hg blowing.

nope, round shaped exh ports were on an 81-84. 85-95 got the pears. Got to watch out for early 85's though, some of them still had the 84 engine in them.
