rough idle after changing timing gears set

rough idle after changing timing gears set
when i fired up the truck after timing set change, the truck will start up and run, but not very long and the quality of idle is rapidly worsening until it just stalls.
when i hold the throttle open just a bit to use the timing light the spark sure looks like it is jummping every where
any help?
