when im on the freeway and come to an incline my truck loses power and the motor makes a clacking noise. so i let off the gas and slowly try accelerating and the truck starts to vibrate. Any ideas?? its the dreaded 3.uh oh

 

Start off with the basic engine health tests. Compression test, leak down test, oil pressure, pull the plugs and check condition of them. How's the rest of the tune up parts? How's your motors timing? Do all the marks line up? How's the coolant level? Are you running on all cylinders? All these are things you should look at. You may need to end up dropping the oil pan and checking condition of the bearings on the bottom end.
