I have a 92 4wd 22re pickup. It has a knock sensor. i pulled a 22re with 80,000 miles out of an 89 or 90 2wd p/u. my question is can i run the 89 motor in the 92 with out the knock sensor. i have read for some odd reason Toyota did not put a knock sensor in some 2wd models. this will probably throw a code so is there any way to trick the ecu into making it think it has a sensor, or is that just not likely?
