aftermarket temp gauge

Which brands/models have you guys used with success? Easy to install? Any tutorials out there? Where is the easiest/best place to put the sending unit? This would be on an 88 22re.

I like the autogage/autometer brand. There are lots of different styles though. Mechanical, electrical, different sizes, colors etc. I have a 3 gauge set, one of which is a mechanical water temp. I have it threaded into a spot on intake manifold using an adapter that came in kit. Pretty simple.

To power the gauge, I need to tap into the ignition wire. Which one is it and where is the best place to access it?

Same question for the light too, where do I tap into the parking light lead and which wire is it?

Don't go off the stereo. That is ACC; find an ignition wire. Usually black/red or black/yellow coming from the back of the ignition switch.

You can grab a illumination wire anywhere. They are all the same. They are green in a Toyota. Should go to power (12v+) when the parking lights are turned on.

Mine are Glowshift gauges. They've worked great so far.
