Emerg Brake Cable Rubbing Leaf Spg- Help Fix

Hey all,

A while back I was asking how to level up my truck. 1992 Ext Cab DLX. The back was sagging. I installed new standard height SkyJacker shocks and used two 2 inch lift blocks in the back. It is not a serious off road truck, just wanted to level it for appearance and ride. This tightened up the suspension and ride and the look is what I wanted. Problem is that the emergency brake cable runs across the top of the leaf springs. Now the cable just barely touches the top of the spring. I am afraid that over time this will snap the cable from rubbing. Also, any ice/snow that accumulates on it will not allow the cable to move so if the brake is on, it will not release unless I remove the ice. There is a bracket the cable runs through that was designed to hold it above the spring. Is there a taller bracket I can buy or do I have to fabricate one? Is there an easier fix that I have not thought of?
Thanks bfa

For 2 in lift you could have done a full length add a leaf. I installed one recently that gave it over 2 in lift but the spring pack thickness only goes up the thickness of the aal. Only cost around 100 bucks too I believe. Blocks are cheap but cause other problems. An extra leaf will help your loading ability without hurting ride too much also. If you could return the blocks maybe the leafs would work better for you. Good luck.
