alright im tryin to work my wife into letting me sell my 07 ford ranger so i can get this beatiful 92 toyota xtracab 4x4 it only has 123,XXX miles its sittin on a set of BFgoodrich mud-terrians i offered the guy my truck as a trade and he give me 2,000 that would total 6,545 for my ranger carmax offered me 6,000 even and blue book in excellent shape is 14,000 i offered him kbbs offer of 4,545 for the truck and him give me 2,000 for mine and we call it even. what do yall think is that a good deal? im really fighting to get this truck ive looked all over the state and this is the only one i found that wasnt rusting apart or beat to death by some 16 year old whos parents bought him the truck cause of how cheap it was and how they hate it(no offense to anyone who is 16 and take care of their stuff) i can get some pics up of it its in cullman and im in new market so if there is anyone in cullamn alabama and seen this truck let me what yall think its at billy ray taylor auto im sold but i am going this saturday to test drive it and see if its a good truck or to walk away from it. ive never owned a 5speed toyota is there anything i should look for other than the normal stuff?

but why not just sell it private sell for cheap and buy the truck?
i mean if you sold it for 10k it would move quick i'm sure.

ive been trying to sell this truck for about 4 months now ive been driving around with "for sale and my number" on the back window and passenger window ive put ads in the paper and on criagslist and autotrader and nothing the people that do want to buy it want it for next to nothing one guy offered 4grand cash. as it sat and carmax offered me 6grand even as it sat which was a big waste of time by the way sitting and waiting on them. so its easier said than done i would rather park on the side of the road with a sign and my number but i need my truck for work

maybe try lowering the price or listing it in a different city,

 

i have lowered the price i went from 8500 for to 8 then 7500 then to 7 so if i can get this trade plus 2grand ill be sitting a little over 6500 for it. when i got the truck it was a gift after i joined the army my dad said he would pay half and half on a truck with me so i did and he paid 5 and i paid 5 for it so id be about even with this trade

see thats how it is around here ive owned several 4x4s and when it came time to sell em they sold within days now i got a 2wd ranger and i couldnt sell it for 7grand to save my life dont get me wrong its been a great truck ive only had one problem with it from when i got it till now and that was a 500+$ fix from the ford stealership 4.10 with a L/S in the rear and the tried and true 3.0 v6 ive gotten better gasmileage out of my 20+ yr old yotas with the same engine and bigger tires i might as well have a small block v8 the mpg sucks i might get 250miles on one tank and thats from full to empty its a 17 gallon tank and thats bad and thats all highway

I dont see why your ranger would be worth so little...Itd have to be a helluva clean toyota to trade an almost brand new ranger for that old of a Toyota..

Have you actually calucalted the mileage on the ranger? I drive an 01 with the 3.0 and a 5spd and Iv pull 26.9 MPG's running at 80mph all hwy...

 

im lucky to get 16on the highway i think it has to do with the gears the truck has it came stock with 4.10s and stock tires it pulls like a champ from 0 to 40mph but over that you have to fight the gears just to go 65 to 70. and yea its a very clean toyota. and my truck is an automatic and i borrowed a friends data thing you plug it into your obd2 port and gives you real time mpg,speed,tach,everything and driving about 2 hours on the interstate i got 15mpgand that was at 65mph in the city in stop and go traffic with overdrive turned off i got about 11 to 13mpg and i have taken to ford so many times to be checked and they cant find a thing wrong i went through all the brakes nothing is hanging all the bearings are good im stumped
