I am looking at this "Curt Trailer Hitch Mounted Spare Tire Carrier" for my 2nd gen 4Runner with 33x12.5 tires. Anyone know if this would work or have tired it?

I can see that thing hammering your tailgate pretty good on every bump.
Get a spare tire carrier from a junkyard. The 4Runner came with them from the factory.
You might need to put a spacer or longer studs on it for the larger tire, but it'd go the junkyard route first.
