Hey every body
I am not mechanically inclined at all..I am learning...my speedometer went out...(not registering the speed) I dont see any cable running from the transmission so i can only guess its a speed sensor or something...I actually see two sensor type things attached to the transmission...can somebody tell me which one regulates the speedometer? lol...lh side ...rh side?????

 

Right side, on the Transfer case (so it is measuring the speed whether you are in 4Hi or 4Lo.) VSS2 is in the transmission.

The part is not cheap, so confirm that 1) the odometer doesn't work either, and 2) Cruise Control doesn't work. Then it's almost certainly VSS1.

Its def not working in any gear configuration...this truck has no cruise control installed...The speedometer hasnt functioned in over 4 years...I use this truck for hunting trips. Thank you very much for replying

 

Would this part work on a 1990 22RE?
It doesn't appear so, judging by the bottom of the webpage.
