Take motor out?
I know that this probably sounds like a retarded question but here is goes i have a 1994 toyota 4x4 that i bought a few weeks ago and the guy told me that it just had a rebuild job done at 210,000 miles well after a few days of driving it i started getting this hard knock noise from the motor at about 1200-1500rpm but would go away if i left off the gas or got in the gas more , but then i was coming hime yesterday and i could go any faster than about 55mph( normally runs about 65-70 due to not regearing running 34's) and it was making a hard tapping noise and clacking noise . I have checked my valves and they were set at 7 and 11 on a cold motor and i have checked my timing which is at 0 at TDC and i know its suppose to be at 5 degrees at TDC. So if anyone can help me and let me know what they think it may be it will be greatly appreciated. I have located another motor but not sure if i need a new one or just nee to so a small repair to this one. Thanks

From: Nashville TN. I can help you if you're close BUT NOBODY CAN HELP YOU IF YOU DON'T FILL YOUR LOCATION IN!
Well hey, and welcome.
Have you ever worked on a car or truck before?
Do you have a Chiltons or Factory Service Manual for your truck?
As for a swap, I'd try to find a low mileage, possible virgin motor, and swap it in...
It also helps if you tell us which engine you have.
If it's a V6, and it more than likely is, you will have the time of your life taking the engine out.
It wasn't bolted in. Toyota sewed it in
But, it can be done... And by a mere mortal. I know b/c it was one of the 1st things I ever done. And now I don't complain about a darn thing!
That's called contrast
Everything else is easy compared to a 3.0.
