1979 Toyota Shifter seat - bushing, side mount

I have searched all over the forums and web for this style bushing and haven't been able to find it. I have seen a couple of people here that have had the same problem but they never mentioned what they did to resolve it??? Also I checked on Marlins and RockAuto but no help.

Any ideas?

All they offer is the stock nylon bushing for the end of the shifter. There are no seats offered for an L43 that I am aware of. The bushing is only $10 so it may be worth a try. I was going to get one before I found a good deal on a W56 and that solved all my problems

I would check with the Toyota dealer for the shifter seat bushing.

Are you sure your shifter seat bushing is the problem? There are 4 small rubber bushings where the shifter seat bolts to the side of transmission. If these are worn out, it will cause a lot of slop in the shifter. I replaced these 4 bushings and eliminated basically all of my sloppy shifting (I was able to get these bushings at the dealer, which makes me think that the shifter seat bushing may be available at the dealer as well).

I think I meant bushings not seat, thought I'd read somewhere that they were the same. Yes mine is sloppy, it even touches the 4x4 lever in 4 low???

I'm also going to have to do some floor repair, I know a guy who said I could have some sheetmetal scraps free, he has a fab shop. My question is will this be ok to do some minor hole repairs?
