2wd tranny install.

Took eng and tranny out at same time and put rebuilt engine in. Now want to put the a43d tranny and think I have a clearance pbm. With the torque con on the engine I lack 3 or 4 inches ( no jokes haha ) should I remove the torque con. And put on tranny and then re bolt after tranny is a fingers width of flywheel or should I attach engine hoist and move motor forward the 4 inches?
Thanks.

Ps still looking for a floor shifter and linkage to convert from a column to floor 2wd 1991.

Thanks
JDA
