91 trophy truck build

I am looking to build my 91 pickup sort of like a trophy truck. I plan on doing suspension first then droping a 350 or 307 30 over, in it. But any links to good parts will help. Where should I start? Staying street legal for nc, at least try to.

street legal and trophy truck aren't to be used in the same sentence, K? lmao

suspension wise, the best out there is Total Chaos Fabrication, for the budget minded person, the Blazeland LT kit is worth a shot, very well built for sure. and cheap!!!

long travel suspension will make your front tires stick out up to about 4 inches on each side i believe...so you might want to check with your state laws on how much the tires can stick out past the fenders.

if you plan to keep it 4wd, you might want to look into some CV upgrades, as well as upgrades to the Front Differential...for like, preventitive maintenance, because a V8 will grenade the front axels and diff when you take that first turn in 4wd and birp the throttle...

for that, i think you should look into the 8" Supra rear differential, it's called the Supralux swap, takes the 8" supra rear diff, puts it up front of the '86-'95 IFS, and there you have a differential capable of holding the horsepower of a mildly built 350 or 307. the rear diff will be fine, you'll want an automatic with that motor for sure, so tranny is fine.

any other info, search for it.

not a bad start look on a couple classifieds for the parts like dezertrangers or racedezert you can find alotta used parts id run a total chaos like a stage 2 or 3 with the uniball upgrade thas the only way to go then try to find some coilovers for the front and deaver springs for the rear and your gonna need some glass fenders forsure though i would stick with a mild built 302 its a great motor then eventually get a cage
