Well guys I finally got around to getting my pictures together...

I bought the truck from this thread last July:

It had gone through a couple owners and found its way to Canada. The previous owner crashed it on a dirt road hitting a large bolder at ~50km/hr and dead stopping the truck. I trailered it home (6hours) and began tearing into it, not sure if the frame was saveable or not.





First thing I did was pull the cab straight while it was still bolted to a frame...



I had bought a frame locally for a good deal, not sure if i needed it or not but it had manual hubs and a few other good parts I knew I'd need regardless. So I pulled the cab off the bent frame, it was DONE.

Notice the kinks behind the driver side torsion cranks, and forward of the middle cab mount. Crossmembers were bent, both torsion bars were done...


I decided to use my donor frame, i removed all the rust i could find, cut out the 2" tube crossmember that was very rusty and put a nice piece of sched40 pipe in place of it. Primered, painted, and rockgaurded it. Swapped the 2jz, tranny, driveshafts, wiring, brake lines, fuel lines, tank, and did some seals on the 2jz (rear main, and some other leakers common with 2j's).





Now I'm just in the process of putting the cab back on, doing a 2" body lift at the same time, will make wrenching on the 2j a bit easier and will help the 32x11.50's fit a bit better till I decide what direction to go with the truck.



Also will be doing a wideband and a few other gauges once it's running, and switching the aristo ecu/harness mess out for a standalone (Haltech or Vipec i think...)

I'll update as i make more progress, which is only limited by my job and girlfriend

Not really what I'd call a build yet, just want to get it drivable then let the mods begin...

 

Cab is on, fired the motor up, blown head gasket, so I'm doing the head gasket, timing belt, waterpump etc, fun fun.
