Electrical / Lighting Incomptence... Need Help
Whats up y'all... I am a long time reader and finally have an issue that i haven't been able to find by searching around the forum...
Admittedly, I am a complete idiot when it comes to electrical and wiring diagrams so dont give me too much s hit, but my 85 has an issue that is starting to wear on me.
I always have to disconnect the battery when i turn the car off because my drivers side rear taillight (not the brake light) and the front passenger side yellow running light are always lit (Not the turn signal, but the light adjacent to the headlight). I would assume the problems are related.
Is this an issue with wiring, a short, a relay or what? Do y'all have any suggestions for where to start poking around for a solution?
This is really becoming a BIG PITA.

You could have a bad light switch, remove the trim around the steering column and unplug the headlight switch and see if the light goes out, if it does i would guess the switch is bad, if it doesn`t go out then you have a short some were.

Aye, practice with a diagram.
It has little bulbs with text next to them for light reference i.e. "LH TAIL" and "RH MARKER" or something or other. Follow both lines/wires until you see where along the chart they collide (which I imagine would be the headlight sw. as myyota mentioned).
I would really learn the basics around a wiring diagram my friend. It makes the whole process a lot less aggravating.
