Alright guys, here is a question that i cant seem to find an answer to. I have a '92 4runner with a v8 conversion, everything old is out to include the computer minus some of the harness. I spliced into the fuel pump circuit for my ignition since it the only one that stays hot in start and run. The thing is the fuel pump the circuit is staying hot for 2-3 sec. after shutoff. I assume this is to prime the fuel system for the next start. My '90 didnt have this so it shutoff immediately. Im trying to find the capacitor or whatever it is in the circuit to make my '92 shutdown immediately.

 

Most fuel pumps have an oil pressure shut off, when you shut the car off it takes a few seconds for the oil pressure to bleed off.

 

The factory ECM is gone, all the gauges are stand alone direct to the engine. Somewhere in the system is a time delay relay or capacitor that runs a few seconds after key off to prime the system for the next start.

 

Alright guys i figured it out, come to find out i already took that part out, and instead my MSD ignition box is bad storing power somehow after key off, as soon as i unplugged the box the curcuit went key on/key off instantly. Plug the box back in and that same circuit would bleed off power very slowly. Thanks for those that were lookin into it.
