I have a 1990 pickup single cab that i just installed a 5" TG sas kit on the front and rear. I built a tube drive shaft for the front but my rear is to short also, does anyone have any advice on what i should. I am trying not to have one built because i dont have the money??? the rear is about two inches to short. Are the rear on different truck different lengths??Any advice Thankful!!!!

 

And Befor anyone says anything i cant afford to go dual cases im about to be a daddy in a month!!!!

do they make them that big??? are the D/S out of the extra cab any longer??

 

i believe the long bed had the double cardon longer shaft but I don't know about the ext cab's. 4crawler has driveshaft measurements there, you might wanna look at them, or search around here and see what others have done as well.

 

My 88 reg. cab long bed has a one-piece. Measures 49.5" weld-to-weld. I know that off-hand because I've had to replace it 2 times already. I'm thinking that would be a little long for what your needing. What's the length on yours from weld-weld?

What mine need to be is 49.5 from flange to flange. You said your is one piece right so it doesnt have a slip yoke??

 

so the ext long beds were the ones with the two piece?

 

1 piece as in with slip yoke, without the driveshaft center support bearing(CSB).


Dunno? Never actually seen one in real life yet. Wait maybe I have, but I can't recall what model or year it was on.

hmm. my 91 has the 5" allpro springs, and my stock rear d-shaft worked fine. i have been wheeling it hard for about 3 yrs with no problems at all.

are the tg springs that different?

 

idk i used five inch spring with 5.5 shackles...im running 37s right now and they look small it lifted my truck really high! Is your truck a long bed?

Yeah, well good luck on that. I've never seen them listed anywhere. But that doesn't mean they ain't out there somewhere. Just means I ain't found 'em yet either.

I can tell ya that the 1-piece driveshafts for many of the Toyota pickups 2 and 4 wheel drive that I've seen are pretty similar in construction. Meaning you can usaully mix and match slip yokes, u-joints and flanges to suit your needs. They usually have different bolt hole patterns on the flanges though. But there's ways to make that work too. Triple-drilled flanges for the diff & t-case. Or just putting the flanges from your original shaft on the donor shaft. All the u-joints are interchangeable, which makes doing that real easy. Atleast that's always proved true for me anyways.

Alright everyone i figured out my problem! when i moved my hangers for my leafs i move the back one back and left the front so set my axle to far back. I got a tourch so imma cut them off tom and reweld them and be back in biz. Thanks for all yals help though!!!

 

Longfield makes a 1.5" and a 1" spacer for $45 shipped.
