sounds like the vacume for the differential disconnect (ADD) is leaking. basiacly when you put the shifter in 4wd the front diff locks in the drivers side cv axle, when you get a leak in the vacume it wont lock it in and you get no 4wd lol. check for vacume leaks

MOTO......this diagram shows your set up:

There's two vacuum hoses that run from the actuator to the solenoids on your pass side wheel well under the hood. Follow them from the actuator to the solenoids and see if any are disconnected or have holes......first. If everything looks good, then you have other things to look at.

I agree. But weren't some 92's manual hub as well? I know 92 Toy's is. But for the sake of the O.P. we will have to assume he has A.D.D. (automatic disconnecting differentials.) Had to add that in case he thought I meant ADD. lol

i have a 92 and mine has a locking hubs. and xxxtreme the reason i said that cause i will leave my hubs unlocked and put it in 4 lo and play around in 2 lo. lol you can deff feel a difference but since he got A.D.D. he cant do that. lol

lol yeah that's why I covered my butt when I mentioned he never said whether or not the tires were tuning in 4lo and he was really in 2wd lo.
I do that all the time in mine too, leave the hubs unlocked and slap it in 4lo, just to amaze the local kiddos lol.

blew the lines out with an air compressor and one of my friends told me to just blow some air in the actuator. i guess it worked but now i cant even drive down the road.
but now cant even drive down the road without it binding up.

maybe you damaged the actuator, I don't think those things were designed to be pressurized like that, but I don't have any experience with the ADD system, all I know it's vacuum controlled not pressure controlled.

i think i got it to free up. they both spin freely and the front drive line doesnt spin either. i think im going to just get manual hubs here in a week or two. what do i need to do this. can i get rid of the add ?
