Removal of Rear Windshield

I have a Can Back top and never use the rear window. I am also about to remodel the interior. Has anyone removed the rear windshield and left it out before? I was thinking about doing it in my Less Weight/More MPG campaign.

Did a search and only found stuff about fixing the rear windshield.

Not hurting anything where it is out of the way and stored safely. I'd leave it alone.

How much do you think it weighs though? I am looking to remove about 200lbs+ of junk.

x2. but if your are bent about removing it, assuming you are driving a 4runner, consider removing the tail gate assembly and replacing with one off a pickup.

4Runner tail gate slides down/back. Pickup tail gate pivots.

It will work just gotta do some fab work.
