Got my new Magnaflow today!

I went to the shop and was able to listen to the sound between the 24 inch and 18 inch magnaflow muffler. The longer one sounded nice but just slightly louder than stock. I wanted something a bit louder and went with the shorter version. Installed, it tucks up nicely. You can't see it from the rear wheel well and side like you could the stock muffler. What a change in sound. I love it. Like people have said before, I can't believe I waited this long. I only replaced the muffler and kept the stock 2.5" piping. If anyone is considering adding a Magnaflow to their 3rd gen., the part # which I used was 11226.

Well, I am glad to hear that! It is good to hear a person who is as happy with the new exhaust system that I am! Congrats. Just remember to not drive with your head out of the window too long. You will get bugs stuck between your teeth! LOL... :fireman:

Cool, can you get a video of it?
I don't have any 3rd gens on my exhaust page yet with the Magnaflow.

My part # has the 5 instead of your 6 to signify it's for 2.25" exhaust pipe.
Also, when you measuered yours, is that the whole muff including the tubes on them, or just the casing?
My casing not counting the tubes which are attached is 14".

Glad you like the Magnaflow. It will get better sounding later too as it ages.

Corey,

The body of mine is 14" and not 18" as I said before. I think the shop guy misquoted me but when I checked Magnaflow's catalog, the correct length for part # 11226 is 14". I just did not change it above. Sorry, I do not have a videocam. I would love for you to hear this one. I bet you someone with a 3rd gen and a Magnaflow already has a videoclip they can send you. I really like the low-profile fit to it not to mention the sound.
