YotaLoners1987's 1987 Pickup Build-Up Thread

Here are a few things ive done to my truck so far:

Custom home built front bumper with Dick Cepek lights
Junkyard wheels pinted black
31 x 10.50 Mudstar
Custom tube doors
Herculined floor board
Bucket seat swap from 88 4Runner
Turn signal mod
B&M shifter
Diamond plate dash console for radio and cb
Custom herculined center console
Flatbed in the works
Rebuilt rear end
The original bed youcan see thru was unrepairable and unfixable so I opted to make a flatbed, more pics to come so tell me what you guys think, thanks!

well guys im glad for your feed back this is my baby, workin on it is my theapy sorta ha ha its gotten me thru alot of difficult times in my life, and difficult spots in the woods.

Big Bock:
The doors are custom made after i saw some on the internet for $250 i decided i could build them for about $50 metal, latches and all. There not perfect but they look goot and work well.

BackGate:
The flatbed will be coming very soon, steel here in middle Tennessee is very high atm so im tryin to find an old trailer frame, or mobile home frame, i can scrap and salvage all the steel i will need for a fraction of the cost. I have my plans, specs and anticipation all ready to go ha ha I just got a digi cam after i had finished all my improvments to date already completed. Ill give some build pics of the flatbed as i build it. Look for me to get started within the next 2 months, ive got a few steel options locked down and waitin for some final word on 1 of 4 avenues. Stay tuned and keep the feed back coming.

I love the minimalist look, and it's gotta do great things for the power to weight ratio. You bumper has me wanting to build myself one now.

ya man i hear ya my yota totally helped me to quit drinking, then when that came i thought i might as well quit smoking,as hard as it was( plus i didnt want to smoke in her ), i also just put a flat bed on, thats how i found your thread, i like how you herculinered the floor i was pondering that too, the PO piainted the frame on my 86 but i want it herculized, im also thinking of covering the bed in hercules juice and the side rails. good luck bud.

I always thought these trucks look good in red. I had a flat bed truck and they come in real handy. I miss mine and it made for a good work bench. I already beat you to the patent on the zip ties for the tail lights.lol. Great looking truck.
