name that part! (brake leak issue)

let me start of with the fact that im clearly a novice and i greatly appreciate any help i get!

anyhow, ive been having a leaking issue with my brakes. the fluid reservoir will drain after about 2 weeks. i believe the culprit is this part as ive followed the brake lines and see no evidence of a leak except around this part. part of the problem is i have no clue what this part is called even after reading everything about brakes in the haynes manual.

thanks in advance for the help!

That`s the load sensing proportioning valve. Try finding a good used one, as a new one can be a bit expensive.

LPSV = Load Proportioning sensing Valve. It put's more braking power on the rear brakes when there is a heavy load in the truck. When you replace that part, which I would do, make sure you bleed that part LAST. Your brakes will never be right if you do it in some other order.
