I saw this truck in the parking lot next to me. It had limited decals but not in the places it was supposed to, it had a slight lift, sport wheels and a hood scoop not aftermarket it looked just like mine. However as you can see it has the body of a limited. Did Yota ever make or offer a limited with a hood scoop? It would look awesome. Sorry for the bad pics just thought I saw something rare, it was also a silver like I had never seen on a toyota and the body was all one color unlike most limited's.

It looks like a true Limited 3rd gen as it has door cladding on the rear doors I think I see in the pic. Badges would be on the C pillars and typically on back hatch as well.

I agree that usually the flares do not exactly match the body color, but I believe it is an 01 or 02 Limited if it had body colored bumpers as well.

good looking ride-I'd have left a card and said "like the truck" and see if the dude would call or come over here and chat with ya.

 

I've come to notice in my days of owning a 3rd Gen that a lot of other 3rd Gen badges aren't always in the same location. As far as the hood scoop, it must have been added cus that definitely looks to be a Limited. Unless he went way and beyond to add all the "Limited" type stuff to a sport sr5, I doubt it though. Like Ron said above me, my guess is an 01 or 02 based on that color. Next time try to catch him and have a convo, let us know the outcome

 

The limited badges were not in the typical spots and that jumped out at me immediately. The window tint was so dark I couldn't see leather or not which wouldve settled this.

 

I'm with Ron - I don't think that adding the door cladding (ie sport -> limited) is an easy task, nor is hiding the removal without some tedious body work (limited -> sport). I would put money on a Limited

 

I've seen SR5's with full cladding and leather, so I agree it's going to be hard to tell from the outside.

Did any SR5 come with auto climate control?

 

some sr5's did have some of the cladding similar to the Limited's but if you were to look side by side of each they are different. Plus, the bumpers are painted and it has Limited badges. I'm still bettin on a 01 or 02

That's pretty much exactly what it looked like but with sport wheels and 2/3 inches of lift. But it seemed like his paint was a darker silver.

umm... What what exactly are the differences between Sport and Limited??

Mine looks just like that, but without the hood scope.
It have the Limited sign behind the rear doors and on the back hatch.
Its is a light silver color.

-Leather seats
-Digital/electronic AC controls and screen
-heated driver and passenger seats
-power seat adjustments
-and i believe i have the Limited 16" rims
-and my dash has that wood look to it like this, but my stereo is different.



Now i'm not sure if there are characteristics of Limited Runners, but i also have
-fog lams
-power sunroof
-towing package
-ECT Power
-and a button near my left knee that says 'Trac OFF' (i believe this has something to do with the diff locker...? )

So do i have a Real Limited version?

 

mines a sr5 sport, i wish i had that hood scoop! i had the tow package, have ect, no sunroof, no leather, didnt have e locker either.
