Electrical won't turn off...
Hi guys!
I've got a weird one. Today when I turned off my 2000 4runner and removed the key, all of the electrical components (Clock, dash lights, stereo, etc) stayed on. I restarted and ran it for a while, and when I turned it off again it worked fine. However, after driving it around this afternoon and turning it off, the same problem occurred. In order to stop everything I had to disconnect the battery. Any ideas as to what's happening? I've never had this problem before...
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ben

pure guess is that the ignition contact switch inside the column is making sporadic contact. Not sure...just guessing... anyone ever jimmy with that in an attempt to steal your ride? all scratched up around the ignition area?

Damndest thing...My 4Runner is apparently able to fix itself. Only happened over two days, then it has been doing fine. Not sure what caused it, but I've gone 2 weeks with no recurrence.
