Need Help on choosing motor

Okay guys, I have a couple of questions on a motor for my 4.3 swap. I have a 95 4Runner with a 3.0 that went out. I found a 1990 4.3 with harness for a killer price, but here is the question. I want to keep this truck street legal, so what do the Colorado emmission refs look at when it gets inspected. Could I get a newer harness and ecm.

Im doing a 22re to 4.3 swap.

But in your case, 3.4 would be the easiest, and would be the closest looking to stock.

I can't help you with the Colorado emissions question but I love the 4.3 / 700r4 swap lots of low end torque and it may be easier than the 3.4 swap with the Advance Adapters swap kit.

3.4 is easy when you have a 3.0, lots of stuff just bolts in, as a matter of fact im pretty sure it requires NO major fabrication, if any.

Well I thought about the 3.4 swap but since my motor and tranny went out I figures I would go ahead and do the 4.3 swap. Personally I dont care much for the stock look. Sorry to all the Toyota die-hards. Thanks for the help.

I would love to spend money on the painless kit, but I have yet to find the tree with hundred dollar bills. I do know enough about the wiring to tackle that job to help keep money in the rebuild of the new motor and tranny.
