Unhappy No start after TPS adjustment

Yesterday i did a TPS adjustment on my 95 3.0. As far as I know i have it correct. When i was finished i started it a few times and drove it around and it did better, and idled good accept for what it has always been doing, witch is going down to about 400 and surging between there and 600. Well this morning i got in to leave and it wouldn't start. It would almost start then immediately die the moment it started to fire. Does this mean i did my adjustment wrong or do yall think it could be something else?

thats pretty strange because i did the same things and my runs good....check the big hose the is connected to the throttle body, maybe is leaking pressure. double check all your work...

Its possible that the TPS is bad, ive seen a bad TPS cause a truck not to start. Check the adjustment one more time just to make sure its right.

But the truck should run with the TPS unplugged, mine does.

Sounds like coil or fuel pressure to me. Possibly a slipped timing belt. Probably not the tps if you just got through checking/adjusting it.

Try jumping +B to FP, and test the resistance on both circuits of the coil. Check for spark & check your timing. Make sure positive terminal of coil has power when ignition is on. Check the fuel pump switch in the air meter. Check your fuel pressure.

Did you check for codes?

it use to run with it unplugged till i adjusted it. i havent checked for codes yet and i have a distributer not coils. i know its not the timing belt. how do i check fuel pressure? im going to do the adjustment one more time and see what i can do. I would think its not that though because it started numerous times that day after i did the adjustment but i guess i could have gotten it wrong and it just took the computer time to figure it out.Fuses are also fine

Alright i readjusted the TPS and checked all the vacuum ports and they are all clear. Still no start. It will fire for just a second and then die immediately... check it out.

Easy with OBD1. Jumper E1 / TE1 in diagnostic box.. turn ignition to ON, the CEL will blink them to you.

Alright I am throwing codes 14,21,and 41. It wasn't throwing them till it wouldn't start that one morning.

14. 1. IGF signal form igniter is not imput to ECM for 6 consecutive ignitions, Open in short in IGF or IGT circuit from igniter to ECM. or the igniter.

21. 1. Open or short in heater circuit of heated oxygen sensor for 0.5 sec. or more.
2. At normal driving speed (below 60 miles per hour and engine speed is above 1,500 rpm).
amplitude of heated oxygen sensor signal (OX) is reduced to between 0.35-0.70 V continuously for 60 secs. or more.

41. 1. Open or short detected in throttle position sensor signal (VTA) for 0.5 sec. or more. IDL contact is ON and VTA output exceeds 1.45v.

I dont realy know what code 14 means but it would seem that on 21 i have a bad oxygen sensor or i have a short in the wires, and on 41 i prolly have a bad Throttle position sensor.Do yall think any of those could cause it not to start. Code 14 seems like that could be my starting problem. Truck is getting spark from igniter to distributer though.

I have a tps questions that I have not found any answers to. I suspect my tps to be bad, after having ohmed it out the max reading I am getting is 5.13 k with throttle fully open. Also, when I put the diagnostic jumper in, I am getting no change in idle and I read in one thread that means the tps is bad. So am I correct in my assessment the tps is bad?

Which terminals are you getting that reading on? VTA-E2? As for your question, maybe. Won't know for sure until you test the IDL-E2 contacts. What year is the motor design? And, what motor is it?
