22r only running off battery
ok truck wont charge, so i replaced the alternator and i still have the same problem, the battery is only reading 12.3 volts while running so i tool in the new alternator to have it bench tested and they said its fine. so i got a new voltage regulator in my truck but my question is would my voltage regulator keep my truck from charging

yep .. as above mentioned , check for salt corrosion on your connectors as well , as you are close to the ocean .. dialectricgrease on your connectors is a real good thing ! will halp prevent corrosion

ok thanks, i just cleaned all of the connections and checked the grounds related to the alternator but still no luck, im pretty close to taking it in to a shop and have them deal with it because its just getting irritating. also if you remove the positive battery cable from the battery with the engine running should your engine stay on. I read that you can do that as a test to check your alternator and i have done that before on my old ford exploder and it ran fine without the battery and just off the alternator. If you got any ideas just throw em out there im all ears. thanks fellow yota owners

ok guys got it all squared away so i guess it was a bad alternator. i guess when i first replaced it i should of changed the voltage regulator also but since i didnt it probably fried the alternator so i picked up a voltage regulator and a swapped the alternators and my truck is putting out 14.5 volts which looks very good to me, thanks for the help guys aloha
