could be a warped flywheel especially if you were riding the cluch and got it hot enough.

I have the same problem. It seems to be worse when its cold and for the first couple stops.

Clutch components really don't like water....Toyota should have made the bell housing a little more water tight. You could have messed up your release bearing, or washed all of the moly lube off of your clutch fork and components casing engaging to be sloppy.

You won't really know for sure until you open it up, but I would guess that you need a release bearing and some re-greasing.

oh that makes sense. So could my torn slave cyl boot contribute to that?

Yes that definitely would contribute. What happens is dirt and grime can get in there and cause the piston to slide in and out roughly and can even cause it to stick if left like that for enough time.

Digging up an old thread, but my clutch release has also been a little rough lately.
Clutch was replace by the dealer at 180K, I'm now at 217K. I started to notice it after I replaced the shifter seat bushing with a marlin crawler bushing (my shifter has re-gained it's full travel, no more holding it in third and forth).

I don't see how the shifter seat would have anything to do with it, so I was wondering if 2DoorRunner ever discovered the root cause, or if anyone else knows what might be causing this issue.
