22re to 7mgte swap
im swaping my tired 22re out of a 89 pickup with 4wd to the 7mgte out of a 89 to 92 supra. now i was reading up on http://www.off-road.com/trucks4x4/ar....jsp?id=186544 and he was showing that the stock 22re mounts could work, just need to be lined up. and ive been reading supracharged.com too so i kinda know what to do but i just feel like i need advice. i cant find the 5mge mounts like everyones saying so i think ill just need to try this. o and the bell housing im gonna use is from a 7mge, is that the one i should be using? cause on supracharged.com they were saying the 7m or the 5m non turboed., o and should i get the cutchdisk, flywheel, and pressureplate from the 7mge, 7mgte, or 5mge? and should i use the clutchdisk from the 22re?

you have to use the 7m clutch disk, pressure plate, fork and slave cylinder
you also may have better luck changing over to an R series tranny, as it can handle the power of the turbo 7m. instead of using the the non turbo 7m bell housing.

if the adapters can not be found then moving the mounts on the frame has been what ive seen everyone else do to mount it.

yeah, I think I got everything. just don't want to screw anything up. one problem I am worried about is if the oil pan will clear the front differental, really don't want to cut into that.

You'll need a cressida pan, pump and probably the dipstick too, if you want to clear the ifs diff so you lose your steering dampener. The front sump means you'll have to drill a new dipstick hole and plug the old one unless you get a Cressida engine. Use a masonry bit, works really well. A donor supra is the best way to go if you have space, lots of bits come in handy. Save the 22re harness in its entirety in case you need a few wires or plugs. Mine runs, but shimmed my oil pump wrong and have to drop the pan to fix, and I have the same COR relay issue that 4crawler did/does. It cranks over a bit longer to start, but otherwise fine. Oil pressure gauge and CEL don't work at the moment, but I can use a mechanical gauge, and had already wired in a temporary light that I can make more permanent if the wiring eludes me. Exhaust and some odds and sods to go.

Thanks, yeah I'm not sure where I'm going to get the exaust pipe that comes off the turbo. But as for that pan.. its probably going to be just as hard as finding them dam 5mge mounts

Yes that for the egr port.
On the USDM engine's the exhaust from the no. 6 cyl, where that small plate (can just barely see it in those pics) at the back is, gets channeled by a small manifold of sorts that bolts to the back of the head.
Exhaust goes from the hole on the back (exhaust side) through the other hole (intake side) then into a valve and finally in the rear of the intake manifold.
JDM engines don't use exhaust gas recirculation, so there's small steel plates on the head and intake manifold to block those holes.

ok so I went to see how the engine will fit and I can't get the engine low enough to bolt the the tranny. I think I do have to cut the oilpan.. this sux. I also have to make the new mounts for the engine

I take it that you are trying to use the supra pan in an ifs truck, and if so, cutting the pan or an SAS are probably your only options. As I mentioned before, NA 7m bell/clutch/pp/fork, a cressida pan/pump, and 22re rubbers connected to engine mounts from a 5m supra/celica will allow the motor to bolt in. Mine fit great. Redrill the dipstick hole and set the length to show full at 6 quarts. If you make mounts instead, post lots of pics.
