Auto tranny to a 22re

Looking to see what swap are avilable for a 22RE to a auto transmission?
I have a 87 4 Runner with a 22Re motor with 5 speed & doubler transfer case.
Would like to keep the motor and transfer case but change to a auto transmission. is that possible are do i need to upgrade to the 4.3 v6?

For the love of god why would you want an auto if you already have a 5speed?

Sounds like a cool idea to me.

But hey I have a 400+ HP DD to get my adrenaline kicks with.

oh no... worst idea ever... please don't do that. If you want an auto, get a truck with auto. Save yourself the trouble, and save that sweet 5-speed for someone that will love it and cherish it! If you don't like it for some reason, just get a different truck!
