1990 22 re efi relay getting hot
I have a 89 Toyota that had a 3 liter v 6 with 285000 miles head gasket went and I swapped a 22 re motor tranny and interior and exterior wiring out of a wrecked truck and now it runs great but randomly won't start has fuel spark doesn't make sense the only thing that I have found odd is the efi relay is hot eventually it starts just would like to figure out why the relay would get hot unless they do that when they go out ?

They do get hot .I bought a new one and it got hot too . I had asked that same question on here awhile back .
Try this though , When the truck doesn't want to start wiggle/tap the efi relay
while your starting the engine . The connections may be back in the relay .

Code 52 is the knock sensor . It's located under hood, passenger side, upper engine area, below center of intake manifold, mounted in engine block . First make sure it is plugged in . Don't confuse it with the oil pressure switch ,which its below the oil filter mounted in engine block .

Hey thanks for the info do you know when the ecu acts up can it be intermittent? I am wondering if when the donor truck I pulled everything out of got into the wreck maybe it has some internal damage

Well shut it off at the wrecking yard and no start with the other computer or a different coil and igniter they only gave half $ back on the ecu ...... kinda at a loss I put my computer back In and when I put the gas pedal all the way to the floor it finally started but blew a cloud like it was flooded
